What does energy efficiency mean for a Henselstone window? The glass is a 1" insulated panel with Argon gas and high efficiency low E coating, a U-value of 0.25. The wood profile is 2 3/4" thick with an aluminum profile clipped to it. Between the aluminum and the wood we leave 1/2" for additional insulation. All in all this window has a U-value of 0.28 or R4 installed.
